About Us

Artisan Silver Cables is a British company, based on the Isle of Wight.

We supply our artisan-built pure silver cables direct to the world-wide audiophile community.

Each cable is hand-built to order with great care by skilled artisans (hence the name).

We are genuine enthusiasts of music and hi-fi. Feel free to chat us with about our cables, or indeed any hi-fi/music related matters - you'll always get a friendly response :-)

Our original aim remains our aim now: to bring the joys of pure silver cables to a much wider range of audiophiles, by making them much cheaper than other traditional companies.

Our tinyness works to our advantage - very few overheads. And we bypass the usual complex distribution chain by selling via the internet only, direct to our customers.

It is common industry practice for a cable to sell for 8-to-10 times the cost of the materials it is made of. In our cables, the materials cost is usually over half of the selling price.

Our cables are designed to free your music. This is fundamental to our philosophy.

We had a lovely bit of feedback from a customer recently, which sums up the essence of what we aim to achieve:

"I listen to a wide range of music across all genres: classical, R&B, popular and rock, I'm especially fond of choral and solo voice and I can now experience all this as real "performances" rather than recordings."

We believe it's important to use only pure silver: it has the lowest electrical resistance of any metal, which is the key to why a properly designed pure silver cable sounds so much better than a copper or silver-plated one - but great care is taken to get all of the materials & connectors used into a well-designed configuration that seems to get out of the way & let your system make music in a positive way.

That is, audiophile quality recordings will of course sound amazing, but less well recorded stuff will still sound as good as it can do.

Experience as an audiophile really helps here: I've been a music and hifi enthusiast for over 30 years - I know what works. So we get the basic design right, then it is fine-tuned by many hours of listening to lots of varied music through my personal hi-fi system.

But don't silver cables always sound thin, bright & lacking in bass?

Well it's true that many of those on the market do! It's caused by using too few and/or too thin conductors - after all silver is expensive! This causes  the overall cable to have too much electrical resistance - thus completely negating silver's inherent advantage.

The answer is simple: don't skimp on the silver! Make sure each pure silver conductor is of optimum thickness and that enough conductors are used.

The result is then a neutral overall balance, with deep extended bass complementing the magically open, transparent & airy mid & treble that silver cables provide. The overall sound has optimum fullness, without bloat.

30-day trial: Of course, we don't expect you to take a blind chance with your hard-earned cash, so you'll find that many of our most popular cables carry a 30-day no-quibble trial period.

For those of you who are new to our cables, we suggest trying a pair of our most popular

Ultimate Silver Dream analogue interconnects.

If they don't do it for you, they can be returned for a full refund. To be honest though, we rarely get any returns because they really are good!

Free World-wide delivery on all orders. Our prices are in British Pounds Sterling.

Our overseas customers will find that the current exchange rate of the British Pound vs. currencies such as US Dollars and Euros (and many others) makes this an extremely favourable time to buy!
